Massive Re-Wiring and Electrical Project On A 1969 Lincoln Continental
Specializing in power windows has its advantages. Since we are in so many different vehicles, we have invaluable amounts of knowledge pertaining to the wiring systems for locks, window motors, switches, interior lighting, and all power accessory systems. This gives us a big advantage in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues on all cars, but most importantly, classic vehicles in the restoration phase. Have a look at what our techs are capable of.
Our Prized Projects!
1934 Mercedes 500K Replica
In 2010, after a four-year search, this gorgeous replica of one of the world’s most beautiful cars was found in the San Francisco area. Succeeding M-B’s 380K, this great touring car carried a 100-horse engine capable of 100 mph. This car has a more powerful Chevy 350 with a four-speed automatic.
Due to the original vehicle having manual windows, the owner wanted a discrete hidden power window system. This required a secret hatch in the armrest concealing the power window switches, custom wire harness to both doors, custom window motors and regulators. Definitely one of rarest vehicles we have worked on.
1968 Chevrolet Camaro
This muscle car sounded even cooler than it looks! This was easily one the coolest cars we’ve had in our shop. We rebuilt all four window regulators and motors (yes, the rear coupe windows are power!) and adjusted all four windows.
1966 Pontiac Lemans Coupe
This muscle car obviously deserves a spot on our classics list. Just look at it! We rebuilt both window switches and adjusted both windows.
1954 Jaguar Hearse
Inspired by the car in the Harold and Maude motion picture, this one-off $700,000 vehicle was built in the Phoenix area.
The rear hatch opens by remote control; inside, a remote-control banjo case holds items representing the fake suicide props, such as a samurai sword and a noose. A recording plays Cat Stevens’ “If you Want to Sing Out, Sing Out,” made famous by the film. The rear hatch, banjo case and music are all powered by an extra battery.
Power Window Repair rebuilt the banjo case regulator and installed a limit switch to prevent the banjo case from opening while the rear hatch was in the closed position, which would continuously cause the regulator to break from added stress. We also reprogrammed the remote-control system, updated the speaker system and redesigned the hatch operating system.
1954 Packard Pacifica
This beautiful Packard, equipped with hydraulic electric windows, was brought into us with multiple window issues and a faulty master window switch.
Power Window Repair serviced the hydraulic system, replacing numerous worn parts. We rebuilt the power window switches, performed window adjustments on all four windows and completed critical required service due to 65 years of use.
1976 Lancia Scorpion
This vintage Lancia Scorpion came to us with multiple window issues. Both motors had failed and the regulators made scratching sounds when in operation. Power Window Repair rebuilt the window regulators and motors and made the proper glass adjustments to ensure smoothly operating windows.
